okay, let's do a big what-if: suppose the gb for its own unfathomable reasons suddenly got new light (tm) and decided to start appointing women elders and ministerial servants.
they would, of course, refer to the examples of junia (apostle), and priscilla and phoebe (deaconesses in wordlyspeak) in the greek scriptures; never mind what mental somersaults it would take to get them there.
stranger things have happened in wt history.. that being the case, would having women in positions of real authority make any significant difference in the congos or in the borg as a whole, and why or why not?.
I just wonder how two elders (if wife is now appointed too) could be married to each other. This will cause some very powerful families to be feared.
i realize there are powerfull families now ....but this adds even more dynamic to witch hunting.
plus would the GB wives all be made elders immediately? After all would a GB member make a poor marriage choice since he gets direct advice from Jehovah?

old timers, or careful readers of the proclaimers book, are familiar with the "testimony card" used in the early days of rutherford-era door to door witnessing.
the jw would traipse up to a house, knock, hand the card over to the householder, and wait while he read it.. well, it seems that "everything old is new again".

yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.

i knew many elders and servants over the years being counseled because they rarely answered.. funny thing....my mom who is 88 cries if she doesn't give a comment.
I remember when my privledges were removed...... I hated commenting, the school, demos, ect ect .....
Are they privileges if you hate doing it? It is like suspending a child since they miss too much school.

i can't remember the timing of this...a year and a half ago i guess? It was after the Conti verdict. Our CO said from the stage we needed more money because of the attack on our organization of law suits like "that girl from California."
I was shocked he even pointed to the case. He didn't mention her name but his tone was bitter. He said many awful things that night. Jaw dropping.
i have heard the parallel that Jehovah is using the law to weed out the Org. After all Jahs people in Bible times were allowed to be enslaved by before....

the watchtower has always praised witnesses who are on welfare and decided to pioneer.
many in my congregation, including my mom, were given kudos, praise and assembly parts because they took advantage of jehovah's provision through the government....did you notice this, or was it obvious to me because i was raised in the inner city and many people recieved government help?.
Our PO for years back was a Pioneer and on Disability....many asked how he could manage those functions and still qualify to not be fit for a real job.
give me a break. Oh and and he was an arsehole too. Made everyone miserable .
